Can Cheryl Cole Break America?
For those of you that do not know who Cheryl Cole is, she is one of the members of the Girls Aloud group and married to footballer Ashley Cole. Cheryl Cole, who was formerly know as Cheryl Tweedy was born in Newcastle – upon Tyne, England. She is one of five children in her family.
Before getting her big break in Girls Aloud, Cheryl won various modelling gigs as well as appearing on TV commercials and shows. It was in 2002 that Cheryl auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals, singing S Club 7’s "Have You Ever". After singing her way to win a place in the band she has gone on to become a national hit.
In 2008 Cheryl’s career moved to the next level as it was announced she would be a judge next to Simon Cowell on the popular X Factor show, which was widely accepted by the British public. She went on to win the show with one of her acts Alexandra Burke.
But now it is suggested that Cheryl could be well on her way to crack the American market. Although a very daunting task that a lot of people have failed to achieve, with the help of fellow judge Simon Cowell and his ever growing popularity, it is a feat that is in sight of being achieved.
It is rumoured that Simon Cowell is helping Cheryl Cole obtain a working visa for the US market and that he is trying to organise an interview with Oprah Winfrey to boost her profile.
But is this only about launching Cheryl Cole or is it a great approach to launch Girls Aloud? We all know that it is very hard to break open the USA music market, but with getting in Cheryl Cole first and building up her profile in the USA, it would then become a lot easier to launch a successful band.
Simon Cowells recently successful launch of Leona Lewis has made his profile a lot stronger in the form of bringing over talent from the UK. But to be honest Girls Aloud are no Leona Lewis and they have nowhere near her vocal range. But I feel with the correct type of music, maybe a more of an urban take then Girls Aloud can crack the market in no time.

Although it will be a hard task for Cheryl to balance all of her schedule including cracking America, being a judge on the X Factor, touring with Girls Aloud and spending time with her Husband, I am sure it is achievable and we all know that the harder a person works the more benefits they get. So let’s see how it all turns out.
